The AI Orchestrator

Part architect, part conductor. They decompose problems, design agent workflows, and own the verification strategy. Their superpower isn't coding speed — it's systems thinking and the judgment to know when an agent's output is actually correct. This is the new senior engineer.

The RAG Engineer

Agents are only as good as the context they're given. RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) engineers design the pipelines that feed agents the right information at the right time: chunking, embeddings, ranking, evaluation, and freshness. In data-rich enterprises, this is among the most leveraged roles on the team.

The AI Guardian

Someone has to own safety, security, and correctness as agents gain autonomy. The AI Guardian builds guardrails, red-teams agent workflows, monitors for drift and abuse, and sets the policies for what agents may do unsupervised. As autonomy increases, this role only grows in importance.
